Speaker: Luke Carbis – What’s next for the Customiser?

We’re stoked to announce our very first WordCamp Sydney speaker Luke Carbis.

Luke is a product manager at XWP, lead developer for Stream, and inventor of various other secret projects.

His daily focus is building products which help companies serve clients, and inspire growth.

Luke will be talking about the feature plugin Customise Posts, coming soon to a future version of WordPress.

The talk will include a demonstration of Front-End Editing done through the Customiser, and the technical details on how to easy it is to add support to your theme.

He will finish with a discussion and Q&A on the future of editing in WordPress so get your questions ready!

WordCamp Sydney 2015 Speakers

There are two key essentials to make a great WordCamp, fantastic attendees and awesome speakers.

We’re opening the doors to anyone who would like to talk about a WordPress related topic.

Haven’t spoken at a WordCamp or event before?  Hey no worries, we’ve been there and we’re happy to help you out with tips and guidance.

We’re accepting full-length talks which should be around 30 mins with accompanying slides and a 10 min Q&A and lightning talks lasting for 5 to 10 mins max.  No slides are required for lightning talks, just grab the mic and go.

To help you prepare your submission, here are some example topics that we believe are interesting to our audience.

Please note that these are only for inspiration – we encourage you to submit any idea based on your expertise. If you have several ideas, submit them all! We’ll be happy to give you feedback and help you prepare your application.
